Industrial facility audits

Pinpoint exact sources of noise, get precise readings on how and where sound is traveling in your facility, and receive recommendations on how to mitigate, control, and reduce noise exposure to workers in industrial facilities. Noise source identification

Using our acoustic camera, we access real time acoustic field visualization, allowing for faster on-site equipment evaluations that take minutes rather than days. We can conduct acoustic camera testing at your location, or in the Soundcoat R&D lab.

Hemi-anechoic chamber

Our double-walled and fully isolated hemi-anechoic chamber is lined with tuned anechoic wedges and a hard, isolated floating floor in order to decouple, capture and analyze noise sources with minimal interference form external sounds. The Soundcoat hemi-anechoic chamber provides a testing environment where accurate acoustic measurements can be made, allowing for precise characterization of sound sources, products or materials. Located inside the acoustics R&D lab at our Deer Park, NY facility.

Reverberation room

Designed to simulate reverberant sound fields in a controlled environment, our reverberation room can accommodate a variety of material testing scenarios including random incidence absorption testing, transmission loss, sound absorption and sound power, while also evaluating different acoustic treatments. Located inside the acoustics R&D lab at our Deer Park, NY facility.

Transmission loss window

Built between the hemi-anechoic chamber and reverberation room is the transmission loss window, allowing for full-scale transmission loss testing. Here we are able to recreate, measure, and analyze a variety of sound loss scenarios.

Sound intensity

Our Brüel & Kjær sound intensity probe is the gold-standard to measure sound intensity during noise source location and sound power calculations.

Impedance tube

Utilizing the impedance tube in the Soundcoat R&D lab can ensure highly reproducible testing conditions by which we measure the effects of various acoustic materials.

Airflow resistivity

Understanding the capacity of a material to absorb sound energy, the airflow resistivity test is an effective step to select appropriate materials for noise control and acoustics applications.

Mechanical strength

Employing a variety of testing methodologies we can test mechanical strength factors including Sheer Adhesion Failure Temperature Test (SAFT) for adhesive strength, and an Instron device for tensile strength.

Impact and damping

Utilizing the thermal chamber and Oberst beam testing, we can measure the results of damping materials on impact testing.

Environmental testing

The Thermatron enables us to measure thermal and moisture levels and material tolerances.

Flammability testing

The fire chamber allows us to test materials and composites to flammability standards across industry standards and requirements.
