Composite: Soundfoam M with Uniseal
Soundfoam M is an acoustic quality, open cell, flexible polyether-based urethane foam. The unique formulation is targeted at both acoustic performance and durability, providing consistent acoustic performance over a wide frequency range.
Polyether foams are characterized by excellent hydrolytic stability for moisture and humidity resistance, chemical resistance, and resistance to degradation over their polyester counterparts.
Uniseal is both a product and a proprietary Soundcoat process in which a polyurethane film is vacuum-laminated to all exposed surfaces of the cut foam part—across the top and all exposed sides—for complete coverage on all surfaces. This unique process keeps the face of the foam micro-porous to maintain a quality acoustic absorption rating, while still resisting the ingress of fluids. The surface treatment improves durability, cleanability, and shifts the acoustic absorption curve to the lower frequencies.
Uniseal parts are exceptionally durable and used in the most rugged applications—from power-washed heavy duty equipment applications, under-hood of on-highway trucks, and devices where fluid splatter can be problematic. Additionally, our Cabfoam® embossed texture can be added to the face of the part to provide an aesthetic look to a fully sealed part inside of an operator cabin.
